Facebook Server is down worldwide. Here is an update to the news
Facebook‘s network of services fell offline just as Antigone Davis was live on CNBC defending the company’s policies and treatment of research evidence showing Instagram is detrimental to adolescents.
“We’re aware that some users are having difficulties accessing our applications and products,”
Facebook communications exec Andy Stone writes on Twitter.
We’re working hard to restore normalcy as soon as possible, and we regret for any inconvenience.”
Is Facebook server really down?
Instagram.com is reporting a 5xx Server Error, but the Facebook site just states that something went wrong. The glitch appears to be impacting Oculus, the company’s virtual reality division. Users may load games they already have loaded and use the browser, but social functions and fresh game installation are not available.
According to Jane Manchun Wong:
The outage is affecting Workplace from Facebook customers as well as Facebook’s internal sites.

The three applications, all of which are owned by Facebook and run on the same infrastructure, went offline just before 5 p.m. Facebook Messenger and Workplace, among other connected tools, have also ceased operating as per reports from INDEPENDANT

What caused the major Server Outbreak?
As per speculations, the server may be down due to numerous factors such as tedious setup of the server, along with misconfiguration. Similarly, besides Facebook, Instagram is facing the similar problem.

How did it hamper Facebook’s Stocks?
Facebook’s (NASDAQ:FB) stock is down 4.4 percent as of 11 a.m. EDT Monday.
Granted, this appears to be a poor day for the stock market as a whole.
The S&P 500 is down 1.5 percent as a whole, with growth companies absorbing the brunt of the fallout. Facebook, on the other hand, has its own set of issues.
