Stanley Tucci Jr. is an actor, writer, producer, and former model from the United States. Tucci was born on November 11, 1960. He grew up in Katonah, New York, and was born in Peekskill, New York. Joan (née Tropiano), a secretary and writer, and Stanley Tucci, Sr., an art teacher at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York, were both of Calabrian heritage. Tucci is the oldest of three children, and his sister, actress Christine Tucci, is his younger sister. Joseph Tropiano, a screenwriter, is a cousin. The family lived in Florence, Italy for a year in the early 1970s.

He went to John Jay High School, where he was a member of the soccer and baseball teams, but his major interest was in the theatre club, where he and Campbell Scott, son of actors George C. Scott and Colleen Dewhurst, had well-received performances in several of the school’s drama club plays.
